Volcano Bay recently opened at Universal Studios Florida and it is causing a splash in the theme park industry.

Universal introduced Tapu Tapu; a new wearable wristband that lets you wait in a digital line, gives you messages, lets you be cash free and access to more.

With a massive volcano at its heart, guests are immersed in a tropical paradise with tiki themed exotic decor and lush jungle. You’ll be transported to a world like no other. You won’t see long lines or people carrying around tubes thanks to Volcano Bay’s unique design.

With Tapu Tapu you can splash and play with ease. You simply choose an experience. Universal’s instructions are a breeze. “For each ride, you'll need to tap into the Virtual Line™ to secure your ride time. You can only tap into one ride at a time. But keep a lookout for slides whose entrance sign-age reads "Ride Now!" You'll be able to jump right onto those rides without losing your place in the Virtual Line for another attraction.”  You can also link a credit card to your Tapu Tapu and pay without having to carry a wallet with you! My favorite thing about the wearable is the ability to see your wait time and have it update. When it’s your time to ride, it will notify you with a message and a buzz and you’re ready to go. The park can also send out important messages to Tapu Tapu wearers. There are other surprises throughout the park that are waiting to be discovered with a wave of your Tapu Tapu.

Tubes will be waiting for you at the top of the rides if you dare plunge down Honu of the Honu ika Moana with towering double vertical walls or on Puihi of the Maku Puihi. Both are multi-person tube rides. Or try Krakatau Aqua Coaster for a thrill ride like no other, plunging through the Volcano itself!

Downtime can be spent on Kopiko Wai Winding River where you’ll pass through Stargazer’s Cavern to reveal the magical night sky above or spend your time at Waturi Beach.
