‘Ohana

In the words of Lilo, “’Ohana means family”. And, that is exactly how you feel inside ‘Ohana restaurant located at the Polynesian Resort in Walt Disney World. Personally, Ohana is my absolute favorite restaurant on the property. This truly is a restaurant for every member of your family. There is a ukulele being played live as your eat. The kids can have a coconut race, hula hoop competition and learn to hula dance. And, of course, the food is absolutely awesome.At dinner, appetizers are served family style (which means they bring large platters for the entire family to eat from). They include a mixed greens salad with a Honey-Lime Dressing, pork dumplings, honey-coriander wings and pineapple-coconut bread. Next up are oak-fired meats brought out on skewers, including grilled chicken, BBQ pork loin, sirloin steak and even shrimp. The entrees also come with noodles in a peanut sauce and stir fried mixed veggies. Then comes the mouth-watering dessert... Ohana’s famous bread pudding with a banana caramel sauce. Ohana’s “Best Friends Breakfast” is a character meal starring Lilo and Stitch. They are joined by Mickey and Pluto. This takes place from 7:30-11:00 daily. Again, served family style and all you care to enjoy, including Hua Paka (scrambled eggs), Uala Kahiki (fried potatoes), Pua’a (sausage links and bacon strips), Mickey shaped waffles, and breakfast breads and fresh fruit. As the characters meander around the restaurant, kids (and adults) can get autographs and take pictures with them. Whatever your choice, breakfast or dinner, your family will enjoy great entertainment and even better dining. The cost of the character breakfast is $24 for adults and $14 for children ages 3-9 (these are average prices, with slight seasonal variation). The cost of the dinner is about $39 for adults and $19 for children. Dinner hours are 5:00 – 10:00 daily. Enjoy some aloha spirit next time you visit the Walt Disney World Resort with your “Ohana”!
