Dog Friendly: yes Pros: The resort offers both standard and suite type rooms for families of different sizes and budgets. The suites are a popular choice for larger families or those who want a little more room or privacy. The option to have a separate bedroom and 2 bathrooms is a big hit with guests. It is a popular choice for families with a kid friendly atmosphere. The popular movie theming makes it a difficult choice to decide where to stay. There are plenty of activities for families including pools, a playground, splash area for the little ones, arcade, outside movies and crafts and more. The large character statues make for a wonderful photo opportunity for kids of all ages. The resort features a Generation Bridge which allows easy access to the Pop Century resort located by the Little Mermaid buildings. The large food court has a wide variety of food offerings and plenty of seating for everyone. It also offers a generous size gift shop to search for that must have souvenir. Art of Animation has its own bus route making travel quicker and easier than many other resorts, and you also have the option of taking the Pop Century bus if you don’t mind the extra walk over Generation Bridge. There is also the New Balance Jogging trail around Hourglass Lake for a nice scenic run or walk at the resort.
Cons: While the Art of Animation resort has 2 different room types, the Little Mermaid rooms are not included in Disney promotions and the Family suites are more expensive that your typical value resort room price. They typically price out slightly above the moderate resorts. It is also the only “suite” resort and as a result, often books up quickly. Since this is a family friendly resort, if peace and quiet is what you seek, this resort may not be the choice for you. This resort is also dog friendly and allows dogs in both standard Little Mermaid rooms and the Cars suites. Disney does do a great job and cleans very thoroughly after dogs have stayed in a room, however those with dog allergies may still want to stay clear as dogs could be seen all over the property. There is always the possibility of barking at any time from dogs if they should hear noise outside.
